These are the rules for using the Puzzle Cup app, and the terms you agree to when you join a tournament in it. They are short on purpose: this is a chat app for one weekend hockey tournament, not a social network.
The short version. Be someone your team would want in the room. There is no tolerance for abusive people or objectionable content. Anything you post can be reported by anyone who sees it, reviewed within 24 hours, and removed. You can block anyone, at any time, and they will not be able to reach you in chat.
The app is for players, families, and volunteers taking part in the tournament. It is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. You need a join code from your team to get in.
You own what you post, and you are responsible for it. By posting a message, a photo, a bring-list item, a map pin, or a display name, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not break the rules below.

This list is not exhaustive. If something would get you thrown out of the rink, it will get you removed from the app.
Press and hold any message in chat and choose Report message. Pick a reason, add anything else we should know, and send it. The report goes to your team captain and to the tournament admins, and the message disappears from your own view immediately.
Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours. A message reported by two different people is hidden from everyone automatically while it waits for that review, so nothing objectionable sits in front of a team overnight waiting for a captain to wake up.
Press and hold any of their messages and choose Block. You will not see their messages, and they will not see yours. This takes effect immediately and does not notify them. You can undo it at any time under Team → Blocked.
Team captains and tournament admins can delete any message in their team's chat and can temporarily mute a player who is causing a problem. Admins can remove a player from the tournament entirely. We can also remove content or accounts ourselves, without notice, where the rules above have been broken.
Chat also runs an automatic filter. Ordinary swearing is bleeped out of the message and sent — this is a hockey tournament, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Slurs are a different matter: a message containing one is refused and never sent, and display names are held to a stricter standard again, because a name sits beside every message that person posts. The filter is a first line of defence, not a complete one — which is why the report button exists.
Accounts are anonymous and tied to your device; there is no password to lose. You can stop using the app at any time, and you can delete your account and everything you posted from Team → Delete Account — immediately, without asking us. Removing you from the tournament also removes your access to your team's chat.
The app is provided as-is for one weekend tournament, with no warranty of any kind. Schedules, scores, and venue information are entered by people and may be wrong; check with the organisers before driving anywhere. We are not liable for what other people post, though we will act on it when it is reported.
If these rules change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
